| Welcome to Rotary International South Asia Office |

“Rotary” first touched South Asia in 1920 with
admission of Rotary Club of Calcutta in West Bengal, India. Until 1947, there were only 69 clubs
with 3230 Rotarians in South Asia. However, Rotary movement gathered momentum
in the post Independence era. The year 1984-85 showed a record growth of 968
clubs worldwide with South Asia region itself adding 154 clubs.
